Chester Magistrates Court was told that Peter Ellison, 38, was followed by police officers after demonstrating ‘poor lane discipline’ while driving on the main road on August 27.
Ellison, of The Yews in Saltney Ferry, pleaded guilty to driving while above the legal limit at the lower court on Tuesday.
Heather Bell, prosecuting, told the court that when he was arrested and taken to Blacon Custody Suite in Chester, Ellison gave a breath test reading of 72mcg per 100ml of breath.
The legal limit is 35mcg.
She pointed to his prompt guilty plea and said that he ‘attends court supported by family and doesn’t condone what he did’.
