Earthquake felt in southern Maine, surrounding areas overnight

A small earthquake hit southern Maine on Sunday night.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 1.9 magnitude quake hit at 9:18 a.m. Sunday near Lake Arrowhead, over 6 miles underground.
Maine is not typically associated with significant seismic activity, according to News Center Maine.
The strongest known earthquake in Maine occurred on March 21, 1904.
The 5.9 magnitude quake's epicenter was between Bar Harbor and Passamaquoddy Bay, and it was felt from Nova Scotia to Vermont and Connecticut.
