Lee Ryan Sowerby, 31, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court after he was prosecuted over two separate criminal matters. During a hearing in front of Judge Michael Fanning, Sowerby admitted offering to supply a quantity of class A controlled drug cocaine to another on 9th March last year. Sowerby — along with a second defendant, 27-year-old Anna Coward — also pleaded guilty to an offence of doing acts tending and intended to pervert the course of public justice. They did so, the court heard, when Sowerby was actually driving that vehicle at the time of the accident. Sowerby further admitted two other motoring offences: driving while disqualified and also driving without due care and attention, following an incident at the Rising Sun holiday park, Appleby, near Appleby, on 1st January.
