Joe Ward, who was cared for by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), died following a cardiac arrest. Joe’s donation enabled three life-saving organ transplants, and six additional people benefited from tissue donations. Joe’s family said they found comfort in knowing that his life continues through those he helped. While everyone in England is considered to have opted in to organ donation, families still have the final say.
