Light in the Darkness will take place in the South Cumbrian town from February 6 to 8, 2026, aiming to boost footfall and lift spirits during the quieter months. The three-day festival is designed to brighten up the winter lull between the popular Dickensian and Retro Rendezvous events, while supporting the town’s hospitality sector. Alan Brenton, who is organising the event in collaboration with Ulverston Community Solutions, said: "I've thought for a while that we need a winter festival, in the big gap between the Dickensian and Retro Rendezvous in May. The festival will take place in existing venues around Ulverston, with organisers focusing on recruiting and promoting participating locations.
