Ulverston Town Council recently had a blue plaque made to mark Stan Laurel's birthplace. READ MORE: Stan Laurel receives new blue plaque at Ulverston birthplaceThe plaque was unveiled at number 3 Argyle Street on Saturday, by the Mayor of Ulverston, Cllr Shirley-Anne Wilson. Ulverston Town Council said: "Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to see the Mayor unveil the new town council blue plaque on Stan Laurels birthplace today!" The grand unveiling was followed by a celebration at the Laurel and Hardy Museum, where films were shown and an auction was held. Ulverston Town Council said: "A big thank you to Mr Butcher, Mark from the Laurel and Hardy Museum and also to Jennie Dennett for making the curtains for the grand reveal!"
