The University of Northern Colorado has taken another step toward opening its college of osteopathic medicine next year. Earlier this month, UNC received a letter from the Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) notifying the university its application passed a written portion of the commission’s requirements. The next step will be a site visit, UNC President Andy Feinstein said. The proposed college has also officially adopted the name the University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine, Feinstein said. Founding dean of the college, Dr. Beth Longenecker, said the UNC application will be reviewed again in December.
