BISMARCK — North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong has appointed Sherry Adams to serve on the governor’s cabinet as the state’s next state health officer beginning Sept. 15. The state health officer advises local public health officials, promotes the development of local health services and finds ways to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. “Sherry brings a wealth of experience to the role of State Health Officer, and our citizens will be well-served by her deep knowledge and understanding of public health and emergency response,” Armstrong said. Together, we will build on the state’s strong foundation to address current challenges and advance a healthier future for all the citizens of North Dakota,” Adams said in the release.
