Today, the Church celebrates the feast of St. Matthew, author of the first Gospel. Between now and the feast of St. Luke on October 18, why not commit to reading a chapter a day of St. Matthew’s Gospel? Today, we thank God for the “good news” given us by St. Matthew, especially the good news that a sinner can, by God’s grace, become a saint. St. Matthew, pray for us, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
