A woman arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly shooting another woman in Miami Gardens is claiming she fired in self-defense. According to an arrest report, officers responded to the area of Northwest 30th Avenue and Northwest 184th Street shortly before 10 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert. The victim's boyfriend was seen fleeing in a Mercedes-Benz was was later detained for questioning, the report said. The boyfriend told investigators he was in the bedroom at Meda's home when there was a knock at the front door, the report said. In a statement, Miami Gardens Police said Meda allegedly shot at the victim who had gone to Meda's house "with the intent to engage in a physical altercation," police said.
