A man is facing vehicular homicide and other charges after a pair of hit-and-run crashes in Miami that left a woman dead last week, police said. Oscar Andres Portillo Lopez, 24, was arrested Friday on charges of vehicular homicide in a reckless manner and leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury, records showed. Police and fire rescue responded and the driver of the Compass was pronounced dead at the scene. Portillo Lopez was hospitalized and released before he was booked into jail. The arrest report said Portillo Lopez had a temporary driving permit that had expired in July, and jail records show he has an immigration hold.
