A man is facing kidnapping and other charges after he allegedly stole a car with two children inside in Plantation earlier this month, police said. Two children, a 10-year-old girl and her infant sister, were in the back seat of the running car when it was stolen. The two kids were dropped off in the area of 1230 S. Pine Island Road and found a hotel employee who called police about 7 minutes after the kidnapping and car theft was reported. Officers reviewed surveillance video from the McDonald's and it showed the same suspect who was caught on camera stealing the car, the report said. Surveillance footage showed the suspect at both locations, and facial recognition software identified the suspect as Gaines, the report said.
