A group of major retail and global food and beverage companies, including PepsiCo and Unilever, launched an initiative to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of farmer-facing support organizations across North America.
Supporting Trusted Engagement and Partnership (STEP) up for Agriculture (STEP up for Ag), a pre-competitive initiative, will provide resources and training to support farmers in adopting regenerative farming practices.
Regenerative agriculture can promote healthier soil, reduce agricultural emissions, enhance biodiversity and watershed health, and help raise the standard of living for farmers and farming communities.
Farmer-led support groups are critical to the success of corporate regenerative agriculture programs.
Additionally, PepsiCo and Walmart announced a collaboration in 2023 to enable and accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices.
