A new anime project was in the works from Toei Animation with Girls Band Cry announced at the end of April 2023. The series saw an April 5th, 2024, release, and at the end of 2024, we learned about a pair of compilation films coming. While the film side of things is ongoing, the production has also now revealed that, beyond the compilation films, a new original film has gotten the green light.
