Moonlight Benjamin powerful, original music draws from Caribbean Vodou melodies and 70s blues rock inspired by Dr John, Alabama Shakes and The Black Keys. Moonlight grew up in a protestant orphanage, and is now based in France. She fuses the gut-level passion of Haitian roots music with the blare and bravado of electric guitar rock. On stage, she is like a person possessed, raw and emotive – singing mostly in Creole with a burly voice that erupts from somewhere deep within. Moonlight’s powerful and rebellious voice, meets the tension of saturated guitars to create an intoxicating voodoo trance in a very new and explosive style.
