Castlegar man taken into custody after weapons complaint By Castlegar Source September 11th, 2025On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, Castlegar RCMP received a report that male had pointed a loaded firearm at a female acquaintance while in a residence located in the 500 block of 201 Ave., south of Castlegar, according to Castlegar RCMP Sgt. “Castlegar RCMP attended to the residence of the 44-year-old male, who was known to police and on court conditions to not possess firearms,” Taylor said. Police contacted the male over the phone, and the male subsequently exited the residence where he was taken into custody without incident.”To further the investigation police obtained a search warrant for the residence for potential evidence Taylor added. He said during the search police located a loaded firearm, ammunition, a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, items consistent with trafficking, and Canadian currency. Castlegar RCMP are continuing their investigation which will be forwarded to the Crown for a full criminal charge assessment.
