Pulp have announced that a 30th anniversary edition of their Britpop high-water mark, Different Class, will be released by Universal Music Recordings on behalf of Island Records on October 24. AdvertisementThe LP has been cut at 45rpm, to “make it sound a whole lot better,” as Jarvis Cocker explains. “We were obsessed with the fact that this was our ‘Pop’ album (we had finally achieved some ‘popularity’ when ‘Common People’ was a hit) and, as everyone knows, all pop albums have 12 songs on them: six tracks per side.
