Sierra Leonean and Major League Soccer veteran striker, Kei Kamara has today, April 21, 2022, announced his retirement from international football. Kamara, 37, is the oldest Sierra Leonean player to play for Sierra Leone in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. In a statement, he released today via social media, the striker emphasized the sacrifice he has made for the Sierra Leone national men’s football team for 15 years. He did the same in October 2015, because he said national team players were not respected and treated fairly. He ended his statement by thanking the whole Sierra Leonean community for allowing him to get a chance to represent his motherland.
