Earlier this week I was in Dagenham and had a quick Google search of the highest rated pie and mash shop in town. This led me to Brook Pie & Mash in Dagenham Road - a family-run, 40-year-old establishment named after its surrounding area of Eastbrook. I was honest with them both and admitted I hadn't tried traditional pie and mash before but they rubbed their hands together at the chance to impress me.
