Matt Beard died last night (September 20) aged 47. He went on to take charge of Chelsea, Liverpool over two spells, West Ham United and Burnley. West Ham Women said the club was "deeply shocked and saddened" to learn of his death. On the team's social media pages, it wrote: "West Ham United is deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former manager Matt Beard. "Matt played an instrumental role in the growth of women's football and will be missed by everyone associated with the game."
