NOPD is using images of you from more than 5,000 cameras across the city

In 2022, the New Orleans City Council banned facial recognition. In the above screenshot, Project Nola documents using facial recognition to allegedly identify a known suspect. But the New Orleans City Council banned facial recognition software. The New Orleans City Council’s criminal-justice committee meets June 30th at 10 a.m. to expand NOPD spying powers.
