Council Looks at Changes in Fine Procedure for Noise Ordinance
['Journal Staff']
Revere Journal
By Adam SwiftThe city council will be taking a closer look at how it issues noise ordinance violation fines.
Cogliandro said the change would allow the city to put a lien on properties of homeowners who do not pay the fines.
“I’m not looking to change the noise ordinance that we have on the books in any way, I’m looking to change the way that we deal with fines,” said Cogliandro.
“I would like to make this 40U (under the city ordinance) so that we have control over the process of this,” said Cogliandro.
Several councillors noted that the city and the police department also have to address how the ordinance is enforced.
