News – Global Current News
China has recently launched the newest and superior aircraft, the Fujian carrier, which has been seen sailing in the Taiwan Strait for the first time to undergo sea trials, marking a major milestone for the operations of the new aircraft carrier.
Leng Guowei, the spokesperson of the PLAN, the ship Fujian, undertook a scientific research, testing, and training trip on crossing the Taiwan Strait to the relevant waters of the South China Sea.
He further elaborated that this was a regular flow of arrangements and part of the development of the aircraft carrier, which is proposed in accordance with the applicable international law, as well as international practice.
As the commissioning is near, the analysts think that the ceremony can be held in Yulin Naval Base in Hainan, where carrier CNS Shandong is stationed.
Successive development of the blue-water navigation capability in China and passage over the Taiwan Strait constitutes a technical achievement as well as a strategic indicator.
