Mission Viejo will serve as a training center for divers from France and Australia with the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The groups join the Netherlands and Team USA as divers already announced to be conducting their training in Mission Viejo. “One of the best investments our City made decades ago was building a world-class diving facility,” said Mission Viejo Mayor Robert Ruesch. Diving had previously been scheduled to take place at Exposition Park, the same location of diving at the 1932 Olympic Games. In addition to Mission Viejo serving as a training location in 2028, the announcement also said that “several of the teams” will have training camps in 2026 and 2027 as well.
