Pizza giant Domino's has been given the green light to open in Cinderford, becoming the first full-scale, global fast food franchise in the Forest of Dean. The new takeaway on Cinderford High Street has been approved by Forest of Dean District Council's planning committee this September 2025 – despite councillors' concerns about litter, obesity and parking – according to Carmelo Garcia, local democracy reporter. Outside, the existing ATM enclosure will be removed and a new external wall will be built in line with the main building. Domino's will become the first global fast food chain to open at stand-alone premises in the Forest of Dean, with Subway having previously operated from Cinderford's Applegreen petrol station, before being replaced by British chain Greggs. The takeaway will open from 11am to 11pm daily, with customers and delivery drivers expected to use both on-street parking and a nearby council-run car park, planning officers said.
