21 year old Ian Belcher, of Akron, was sentenced yesterday in connection with the death of a baby 2 years ago. Belcher, found guilty of a first degree misdemeanor charge of child endangerment, was sentenced to 8 to 11 and a half years behind bars in relation to the death of 1 year old Arteyon Cannon. Belcher was found not guilty of murder. Akron police said back on August 10th 2023, officers were called out to a home in the 600 block of Hancock Avenue for a heart issue involving a child. CPR was immediately performed on the child, then taken to Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
