When Capital B Atlanta spoke with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in August, she strongly objected to the criticism that her case against President Donald Trump for alleged election interference was expensive and unsuccessful. The case against President Trump is ongoing, and it’s in the [Georgia] Supreme Court, so people should kind of have the information to know what they’re talking about,” Willis said. Now, a month later, the Georgia Supreme Court has made its decision. Earlier this morning, the court declined to hear Willis’ appeal of a lower court’s decision to disqualify her from the case. The case would likely not resume until Trump is out of office in 2029, nearly a decade after the alleged events.
