Australia Post Executive General Manager Network Operations, Rod Barnes, said the construction of the facility demonstrates Australia Post’s ongoing commitment to investing in infrastructure that addresses the changing needs of customers and the Sunshine Coast community. Not only will the new facility accelerate parcel delivery for customers, it will also have enhanced safety and security features. The facility will significantly improve team member safety by reducing touch points and manual handling with the installation of a large parcel sorter. The announcement of the Sunshine Coast Parcel Facility follows Australia Post’s recent planned major infrastructure investments across New South Wales, with the development of six new greenfield sites in Tumut, Leeton, Casino, Deniliquin, Forbes and Byron Bay. Together, these investments will boost capacity and help improve delivery speed across the network.
