NORTON Lindsey and Wolverton CC just missed out on winning the league title on the final day of the season with promotion already secured. Norton took on fellow promoted side Henley-in-Arden in their final game of the campaign with the result to decide who would lift the title. Lindsey trailed Henley by 12 points heading into the final Cotswold Hills League Second Division fixture of the season at Henley Sports and Social Club. The abandonment meant Henley clinched the title with Norton forced to settle for a runners-up finish. Norton lost just one game over the course of the season as the club bounced back from successive relegations with a promotion campaign.
