The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has announced that the term of its external council members has been extended until 28 February 2026. The university’s council, which includes distinguished industry leaders and senior members of the university’s leadership, will continue to serve with dedication and integrity during this period. The members whose tenure has been extended include Council Chairperson, Dr Leake Hangala, and Deputy Council Chairperson, Norah Ndopu, while council members Dr Stanley Shanapinda, Rachel Kalipi, Emilia Nghikembua, and Gerhard Vries have been extended. Other internal members include Registrar/Secretary to Council, Professor Sifiso Nyathi; Academic Staff Representative, Odilo Sikopo; Senate Representative, Dr Veikko Shalimba; Administrative Staff Representative, Matchwell Lizazi; and Student Representative Council (SRC) President, Michee Masengo. The University also extended appreciation to former council members Honourable Sam Nujoma, the Governor of Khomas Region and Hon.
