Namibia marked World Ozone Day on 16 September, with celebrations led by the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy in Windhoek. The event, held under the theme “From Science to Global Action,” brought attention to the critical link between the ozone layer’s protection and broader climate challenges. Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines, and Energy, Gaudentia Krohne, spoke at the commemoration, emphasizing Namibia’s vulnerability to the climate crisis. “We see Climate Change in altered weather patterns, rising temperatures, droughts, floods, and biodiversity loss. Krohne stated that this day highlights a crucial element in the journey toward environmental sustainability, the pivotal role of industries.
