Namibia’s inflation eased lower to 3.2% year-on-year in August, from the 3.5% year-on-year recorded in July, according to PSG Wealth’s latest Talking Point report. The report shows that food and non-alcoholic beverages price inflation moderated to 5.2% year-on-year in August from 6.1% year-on-year in the previous month. Meanwhile, price inflation for housing and utilities subsided to 3.4% year-on-year in August, from 3.6% year-on-year in July, mainly reflecting base effects. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco price inflation eased to 5.5% year-on-year from 6.9% year-on-year in July. It expects inflation to moderate to 3.6% for 2025, slightly down from our previous estimate of 3.7%, improving from the 4.2% recorded in 2024.
