The European Union (EU) has officially launched the “Ignite GH2” project in Namibia, an initiative to develop technical and vocational skills for the country’s growing green hydrogen sector. The project, which was signed at NIMT last week, is a key component of the EU’s Global Gateway initiative. “The green hydrogen industry holds the power to unlock tens of thousands of quality jobs for Namibians. The EU last week pledged to assist Namibia with its green transition. The funding package for Namibia is allocated to key projects like HyIron and Cleanergy, as well as strategic investments in transportation networks, power grids, port infrastructure, and vocational training.
