The Windhoek Mayor, Her Worship Ndeshihafela Larandja, said they are committed to transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery during a public engagement held on 20 September at the Epandulo Open Space in the Moses //Garoëb Constituency. The Mayor highlighted the progress that they made in human settlements, saying that all informal settlement boundaries in Moses // Garoëb have now been mapped and digitized. Over 16,500 structures have been numbered, and more than 6,000 Certificates of Recognition of Land Occupation have been issued. Since 2019, an additional 47 communal standpipes have been installed in the constituency for N$1.7 million, bringing the total to 357. “Work hand in hand with the municipality to bring transformation to Windhoek, because the transformation of Windhoek is not the responsibility of the municipality alone, but a shared journey that requires your voices, your ideas, and your partnerships,” she advised the audience.
