Matias Simon and Lavinia Haitope won the QKR Navachab Half Marathon on Saturday in Karibib. With over 1300 athletes in the field, Simon won the men’s race in a sprint finish, clocking a time of 1:04:22 ahead of second-place Simon Paulus (1:04:24). The Director of Sports, Jo-Ann Manuel expressed her gratitude to QKR Navachab Gold Mine and other sponsors, who contributed to the success of the event by sponsoring over N$345,000 in prize money. It was the 11th consecutive year for Navachab Gold Mine and the sports ministry to organise the event.
