Tourist accommodations in Morocco’s Guelmim-Oued Noun region recorded more than 28,500 tourists from January through August 2025, a 20% increase over the same period last year, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported. Of these, about 20,382 were domestic visitors, while 8,147 were international tourists, mainly in the provinces of Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, and Tan-Tan. Tourist establishments in the region recorded 46,899 overnight stays, a 16% increase from 40,468 in 2024. These included 14,067 overnight stays by international visitors and 32,832 domestic tourists. The report highlighted that most foreign visitors came from France (2,927 tourists, 5,407 overnight stays), followed by Spain (751 tourists, 1,154 overnight stays), Germany (684 tourists, 1,408 overnight stays), Italy (443 tourists, 624 overnight stays), Russia (355 tourists, 568 overnight stays), and Belgium (352 tourists, 674 overnight stays).
