The Moroccan Media Federation voiced strong support for Barlamane.com on Tuesday after the news outlet’s Rabat office was targeted in an attempted raid by local authorities, according to a statement. Barlamane.com said the move was unjustified, noting that inspectors had already confirmed the office was undergoing only minor painting work and not any construction or demolition. “Media outlets, like all institutions, must follow the law, but it should be applied fairly and without misuse of power,” the federation said. The federation voiced its solidarity with Barlamane.com, describing the attempted raid as “unacceptable” in a country committed to institutional governance and freedom of expression. The federation added that Barlamane.com has every right to pursue legal action to protect its rights.
