Broadcasters Sinclair and Nexstar announced Tuesday that their ABC-affiliated stations will not air the talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tonight or for the foreseeable future, following the late-night host’s suspension on September 17 over comments he made about the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The two companies, which together control about 25% of ABC’s national reach through dozens of local affiliates, will also stop selling ad space for the program on their stations. Instead, they will replace Kimmel’s show with reruns or alternative programming, USA Today reported. Disney-owned ABC stations, which operate independently of Sinclair and Nexstar, will continue broadcasting Jimmy Kimmel Live! The move deepens the fallout from Kimmel’s remarks during the opening monologue of his show.
