As cities across the United States continue to adapt to a world changed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Building Museum announces a timely and ambitious new exhibition: Coming Together: Reimagining America’s Downtowns. Opening to the public on Saturday, September 27, 2025, this exhibition explores the transformations underway in American downtowns and how communities are joining forces to shape what comes next and help cities thrive. Curated by Uwe S. Brandes, Professor of the Practice, Urban & Regional Planning at Georgetown University, and designed by Reddymade and MGMT., Coming Together is the first of three major exhibitions of the Museum’s Future Cities initiative.
