Island Naturals Markets, with stores in Hilo, Kailua-Kona, and Pahoa, have changed their hours and methods of operation because of the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, the hours of operation at all stores have been shortened:9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because of the need to ensure social distancing, they have removed customer dining tables and chairs from inside and outside the stores. Some Island Naturals employees who do not feel comfortable being exposed to the public have been offered temporary layoffs, with some working from home or early hours to reduce store crowding.
