The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of September 1, 2025. In observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 1 there will be no contraflow and lane closures unless otherwise permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)PAHALASingle lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 54 to 55, on Tuesday, September 2 to Friday, September 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass. OOKALASingle lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 33.5, in the vicinity of Kalopa bridge, Wednesday, September 4 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge maintenance.
