KWXX – Hilo, HI
NY Jets head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that QB Justin Fields is in concussion protocol.
Fields sustained the injury on a fourth-quarter sack by Buffalo Bills pass rusher Joey Bosa during the Jets Week 2 30-10 loss against the Bills.
The back of Fields’ helmet slammed the turf on the takedown by Bosa, which occurred with 14 minutes remaining in the blowout.
Prior to the injury, the 26-year-old QB just 3-of-11 passing for 27 yards; on the ground, he gained 49 yards on five scrambles.
Taylor will start next Sunday’s road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if Fields doesn’t clear concussion protocol.
