The Hawai‘i County Police Department held the 102nd Police Recruit Class recognition ceremony yesterday. The 102nd Recruit Class began training on November 18, 2024. Class officers include Officer Cody Hirata (class president) and Officer Kastle Quiocho (vice president). Officer Hirata received the Firearms Award for demonstrating the highest level of performance and proficiency, and he was also named Most Outstanding Recruit for placing in the top 10 percent academically and physically. Officer Quiocho received the Physical Fitness Award for excelling in and maintaining conditioning throughout training.
