A Reddit user has managed to install the firmware of an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT on a non-XT Radeon RX 9070, gaining up to 25% more performance in 3DMark benchmarks.
Flashing the RX 9070 with the RX 9070 XT FirmwareThe user flashed the firmware of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT onto his PowerColor Radeon RX 9070.
By tweaking the memory settings further, the user reached 7,277 points, which equals a 25% performance boost overall.
While this may seem like a great option for owners of the RX 9070, it also comes with serious risks.
That said, if you have the knowledge and experience to perform this process, you could unlock extra performance on your Radeon RX 9070 and enjoy (almost) XT-level results.
