The claim Goldman submitted to probate court in July 2024 totals $57,997,858, reflecting three decades of accumulated interest on the original judgment, according to Parade. Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, confirmed plans to pay as much as possible through auctioning estate items. “The executor’s acceptance of the claim is a positive acknowledgement of the debt,” Michaelle Rafferty, an attorney for the Goldman family, told PEOPLE. “This acceptance allows the administration of the claim to move forward in probate.
