NASA’s mission control center used tubes to send printouts from the lower floors up to the mission control room floor. So pneumatic tubes aren’t going away, even if they aren’t as common as they once were. We haven’t seen many DIY pneumatic tube systems that were serious (we won’t count sucking Skittles through a tube with a shop vac).
