Happy Ghana
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has called on Ghana’s two major political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to undertake honest introspection and address what he described as their fundamental weaknesses for the nation to move forward.
Speaking during the Official Launch of the Speaker’s Scholarship on Monday, November 17, Speaker Bagbin delivered a candid assessment of the two parties, noting that each has a critical gap that must be fixed to strengthen Ghana’s democratic development.
According to him, the NDC must confront shortcomings in its democratic culture, which he said the party itself recognizes.
Mr. Bagbin stressed that these weaknesses, if not addressed, could hinder the country’s progress.
Mr. Bagbin urged both parties to take steps to reconnect and strengthen their foundations, saying Ghana’s advancement depends on their commitment to correcting these deficiencies.
