Liverpool hacker who targeted Obama, Musk and Kim Kardashian ordered to pay back £4m of Bitcoin'PlugwalkJoe' hijacked celebrity social media accounts and threatened to leak images and messagesView Image The Royal Courts of Justice, where the High Court is (Image: Jack Taylor/Getty Images)A Liverpool Twitter hacker who targeted celebrities online has been forced to hand back over £4m of Bitcoin. ‌The now 26-year-old hijacked the accounts and then asked their followers to send online currency Bitcoin to an account, promising to double their money. ‌Other accounts targeted included businessmen Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg. The pair met O'Connor online through the gaming community and admitted opening accounts on his behalf, but having no direct involvement in the transfer of funds. ‌Both signed documents "disclaiming any interest in the funds held in the accounts" and did appear in person at court.
