As Super Typhoon Ragasa continues its march on Tuesday (Sep 23) towards Hong Kong and parts of southern China, the authorities are bracing for impact. The city has shut down schools, businesses and most air travel until Thursday, while over 1 million people have already been evacuated in Guangdong. Packing winds of up to 220kmh, the world's most powerful typhoon this year is likely to maintain super typhoon intensity as it edges closer to the coast of Guangdong, and as it impacts Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan, after sweeping through the northern Philippines on Monday. It is expected to make landfall along Guangdong's coast from midday to late Wednesday.
