When it comes to my family’s media tastes, I thought I knew my place as the oldest sibling: the influencer, never the influenced. But recently, two of my younger siblings became particularly fond of the new hit Netflix movie, K-Pop Demon Hunters. Now, I’ve watched the movie and listened to the soundtrack more times than I can count. The art style was fun, the story was compelling, the characters had depth, and the songs stuck in my head. After years of pushing my tastes on my siblings, they have graduated to imposing their tastes on me, and sometimes (only sometimes) they’ve got a point.
